Submarines

• The first form of a submarine were called the Turtle of the American Turtle
• It was invented in 1775 by a an American Patriot David Bushnell
• It was used to attach explosive charges to British ship
• It was called a Turtle because it's shape practically resembled a turtle

Formations

Most armies fought in formations.

There are tons of formations and many of them were used in different situations. For example, in the middle of a enemy bayonet charge the squad would form into a tight wedge. When firing, the squad would spread out.

Sometimes soldiers might leave their squads to reatreat or to reform themselves.

Some armies never used formations, they stayed together but in a disorganized way.

As you can see formations were important to most armies.

Pennsylvania Rifle-Used as a sniper in the war. First complete American rifle

Bayonet-One of the most effective dangerous weapons, used for up close combats

Pistols- Used by calvalry officers

Swords-Usually made in Europe, also used by officers
